MYOB Advanced, which for 10 years has been a version of Acumatica with a different name, is now officially called MYOB Acumatica. This change comes at a time when MYOB’s partnership with Acumatica is at its strongest. Kim Clarke, MYOB’s Executive General Manager, says their relationship as Acumatica’s exclusive partner in Australia and New Zealand has never been better.

 

The press release doesn’t say exactly how many copies of MYOB Advanced were sold, but it does mention that “thousands of organizations” have benefited from this local cloud ERP system.

 

MYOB has changed owners many times and is now owned by KKR, a private equity firm. Here’s a simple timeline of MYOB’s ownership:

 

Early 1980s: Started by developers at Teleware.

1993: Best Software buys Teleware.

1997: Data-Tech Software buys MYOB from Best Software.

1999: Data-Tech changes its name to MYOB Limited and goes public.

2004: MYOB Limited joins with Solution 6 Holdings.

2009: Archer Capital buys MYOB, making it private again.

2011: Bain Capital buys MYOB from Archer Capital.

2015: MYOB goes public again.

2019: KKR buys MYOB, making it private once more.

As part of this change, MYOB’s other products are also getting new names. MYOB Advanced Payroll will become MYOB Acumatica – Payroll, and Advanced Workforce Management will become MYOB Acumatica – Workforce Management.
